ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
Labor’s Community Agency has, for thirty-eight years, assisted Union Members and the Community with information, referrals, education, food vouchers, clothing, rent/mortgage assistance, utility assistance, employment counseling, as well as other, much needed programs.
Many of you remember Mr. Mel Cohen as the individual who was responsible for making Labor’s Community Agency such a success. When Mel passed away, the Labor Movement and the community lost a great friend. Mel’s contributions to the community and the establishment of Employee Assistance Programs were trend-setting and of great benefit to many. His loyalty to organized labor was exemplary.
In order to continue the work and direction established over the years by Mel and the staff, the Agency must continue to pursue alternative funding, which brings us to this special announcement of the Nineteenth Annual Mel Cohen Memorial Golf Classic, which we hope proves to be an extremely successful and special labor, business, and community event.
We hope that you and your organization will participate in this truly important fundraiser by becoming a sponsor, player, donor, and/or volunteer.
